Car Insurance Peugeot (Car Insurance). Car paint job botched?Car paint job botched? Sent my car to a body shop for repair. It is a certified repair shop for at least six insurance companies but not the one that paid for this job. I got it back and the rear bumper gash looked like it had been bondoed but required additional work, but they chose to paint over it. Also looked like they had painted over debris on the bumper. The hood had air bubbles and bumps. I had paid out of pocket to have the hood done. In replacing the hood, they had chipped the existing paint on one fender and the front grill. The passenger door, which they replaced had black painted trim that hadn't been touched and was largely showing bare metal. The door sill had a wad of either bondo or had been welded that wasn't sanded down. The paint, as a whole, had air bubbles throughout it. On the door, there were large paint bumps coming up. The bottom of the door appears to have been painted over rust. Upon returning it, they reluctantly agreed to repair it and give me a rental car. But, as I mentioned to the assistant manager when he said they'd fix it and buff it all out, that would remove a lot of the clear coat. His reply was that it's clear coated three times. Even if they fix it and make it look right, if they remove much of the clear coat, am I right that the paint job won't last as long? to fix painted parts, the clear coat has to come off. if they do it right, everything will be sanded down, re-primer-ed, and re-painted to match factory specs, then a new clear coat goes over the top of everything. talk to your insurance agent You need to talk to your insurers if you are dissatisfied with the work. I have to say that it would have been wise to use your insurers recommended paint shop as they may have done a better job and your insurers would be more enthusiastic in supporting you. You're right, and I'm afraid you may be on your own with this one. Auto parts : Carburetor Bolt Kit Acura 1995 . Carburetor Choke Alfa Romeo 1996 . Carburetor Choke Heater Tube Kit Audi 1997 . Do newer model car seats fit in older model cars? I have a 1999 Camry that runs great, but the interior is shot. The seats are hard and uncomfortable, and the carpet is blah. A friend from school told me I could probably redo the interior with seats from a later model from cars that were in an accident, and just buy a new carpet. I found a carpet on ebay that would work, and found almost brand new front seats, center console, rear seat from a 2009 camry that was in a wreck - all for $600. Would these fit my car?? If they do, i might be able to replace my interior for less then $750! (which woud be sweet!) . car insurance. Auto parts : Carburetor Heat Shield Dodge 2005. Carburetor Insulator Gasket Eagle 2006. Peugeot . How to Replace the Tail Light Bulb on a 1995 MustangOperating a 1995 Ford Mustang without a working tail light can be dangerous for the vehicle operator and for other drivers; it can also get a car owner fined. Replacement of the tail light bulb is a procedure that can be done in a few steps, with no special tools, and will ensure that other drivers can see the vehicle from the rear at all times. The light bulb can be replaced by someone with little or no automotive repair knowledge. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Socket set Screwdriver Step by Step : 1 Remove the rear trunk compartment panel from inside the trunk. Use a small screwdriver to pry the clips that hold the panel to the vehicle. 2 Disconnect the nuts that hold the tail light panel to the car from inside the rear of the trunk. 3 Pull the tail light assembly slightly away from the car to gain access to the bulbs. 4 Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the tail light assembly. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket, push the new bulb into the socket and turn clockwise. 5 Attach the tail light assembly to the rear of the car and tighten the retaining nuts on the inside of the trunk. Test the bulb before replacing the rear trunk panel. 6 Replace the rear trunk panel by pushing the clips on the panel into the appropriate holes in the rear of the vehicle. Tips & Warnings Never touch the glass part of a replacement bulb with your bare hands, as oils from your hands can cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.
Peugeot . How to Replace a Tail Lamp on a 2003 Lexus RX300The 2003 Lexus RX300 uses a 7443 bulb in the taillight assembly. The bulbs are available at most auto parts retailers as well as Toyota and Lexus dealerships. Lexus recommends that all bulbs be replaced by a dealership service center; however, you can save substantial costs by replacing the taillight bulbs at home. You can have your car back on the road in no time and eliminate the wait at a repair center. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Phillips screwdriver Wrench set Step by Step : 1 Open the trunk of your RX300. Loosen the screws on the inner trunk liner behind the taillight with a Phillips screwdriver. 2 Pull the trunk liner back away from the taillight assembly. Remove the nuts securing the taillight assembly with a wrench. There are two nuts on top of the assembly and two nuts on the bottom of the assembly. 3 Slide the taillight assembly unit forward out of the back of the car. Grasp the taillight bulb and turn it counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. 4 Install the new bulb, turning it clockwise until it is tight. Replace the taillight assembly cover and tighten the four retaining nuts with a socket and ratchet. Replace the trunk liner and secure the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. 5 Repeat the process on the opposite taillight if needed. Close the trunk and test the new taillight bulbs. *is doing its job, and the trouble is farther up the line. Be sure to shut off the engine before the fuel overflows the can, and be careful not to spill the gasoline — it can ignite easily. If your fuel pump does need replacing, a rebuilt one is often as good as a new one, and a lot less expensive. If you're feeling adventurous, some manufactur ers supply rebuild kits. You can take your pump apart with a screwdriver and rebuild it yourself, following the directions on the kit. If that idea doesn't enchant you, ask your service facility to locate and install a rebuilt fuel pump. It should be guaranteed for at least three months. Checking and Servicing \lour PCV Vattfe If your engine has been idling roughly, you may want to check the PCV valve (shown in Figure 13-5) before you make other adjustments. 618

Originally, these fumes were simply dispelled into the air through a tube, because if they were left to accumulate, they would foul the oil in the crankcase. Since the early 1960s, a method called positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) has been in general use. This is much more efficient and desirable: Instead of allowing exhaust fumes to pollute the air, the method reroutes them back to the intake manifold so that they can be reburned in the cylinders along with the rest of the fuel/air mixture. PCV also increases fuel economy, because the engine can run on the fuel in the exhaust fumes as well as on the regular fuel/air mixture. Not every vehicle has a PCV valve, but most do. If yours has one, check the PCV valve every time you do a tune-up to make sure that it isn't clogged with sludge from the contaminants in the exhaust fumes. If it ceases to function, the fuel/air mixture that has been adjusted to take these fumes into consideration will go out of balance, and your vehicle won't operate as efficiently. Most car manufacturers suggest that you clean and replace PCV valves after about 12,000 miles of driving. Locating your PCV VaiVe To locate your PCV valve, use these tips: *-* On fuel-injected engines, the PCV valve may be located in the intake manifold or inside the valve cover (see Figure 13-6). Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System 27It Figure 13-7: A PCV valve located on the valve cover, with the hose that leads to it removed. Some PCV valves screw into the base of the carburetor; some push into a rubber grommet in the valve cover at the end of the hose that leads from there to the carburetor; and still others screw or push into the oil filler cap or tube. If you can't find yours, consult your owner's manual or dealership. Checking your PCV tfattfe Peugeot . Does a 2002 xterra have a car alarm?

Pick the one that seems easiest for you: * Method 1: With the engine idling, pinch the hose hard to shut off any air that may be going through it, but don't puncture the hose. If the PCV valve is operating, the idle speed should drop perceptibly; you'll be able to hear the change. ^ Method 2: Remove the PCV valve from the valve cover, with the hose still attached, and place your finger over the open end of it (see Figure 13-8). If it's working well, you will feel strong suction. * Method 3: Remove the oil filler cap from the valve cover and place a stiff piece of paper over the opening. If your PCV valve is working properly, the paper should be sucked against the hole within seconds. Figure 13-8: One way to checkyour PCV valve. .Chapter 13: Keeping Your Fuel System in Tune Checking the PCV Valve hose While you have the PCV valve off, check the hose by removing it and blowing through it. If the hose is dry, brittle, soft and spongy, or full of sludge or hard deposits, replace it. When everything is shipshape once more, reassemble the hose and valve and put them back on. Lacquer thinner and fuel oil can also do the job. There should be no gummy deposits or discoloration on a clean valve. If your PCV valve must be replaced, buy a new one, remove the old valve, and insert the new one in its place. Tuning j/aur Carburetor Carburetors on 1970s and later vehicles require very few adjustments because of tighter emissions regulations. If you have a carburetor that's older than that (see Figure 13-9), you can do several things to keep it in tune: * Adjust the idle speed screw to keep the vehicle idling at the proper number of revolutions per minute (rpm). * Readjust the automatic choke if your vehicle doesn't start properly in the morning.
